Spent the next week going for many walks exploring the area.
We walked the Little Ashby in Appleby area which involved many styles, paddocks and sheep.

We took the Ullswater steamer across the Ullswater lake and back. Renamed the 'Dark Lake' in Arthurian Legend and inspiration to many artists and writer such as William Wordsworth. It is unique to the Lake District, having been created by three separate glaciers.
We took a walk after our steamboat trip which gave a view of Ullswater took us over Roman roads and many prehistoric burial mounds and cairns.

Managed to get some me time and trekked off one day to a small lake called Loweswater. Lovely and remote away from the popular destinations.
The day before we left I snuck in a walk called St John's In The Vale. Great views over rolling hills.
We had a great relaxing time in Crumbia.
Thanks so much to Chris and his lovely wife Alison and their adorable two kids India and Connor. We have made friends for life.

Set off back to Leominster to stay with Jane and Phil. We felt so at home there we didn't want to leave.
We did a bit of ancestry digging while we there for my sister Linda who has taken the mammoth job of researching our family tree

Found most of the churches that she wanted but no headstones. My relations that I was looking for died in the 1800's and most of those headstones were either completely unreadable or had gone into complete disrepair. It was an interesting day and we saw some beautiful sights.
